JAS Motorsport Gives the NSX a New Identity

Judd Engineering completely rebuilt the original V6 engine. The displacement now reaches 3.5 liters instead of 3.0 liters. Output climbs to 420 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. Although the VTEC system disappeared, the engine still delivers an exciting high-revving character. Engineers selected stronger internal components to improve durability. Meanwhile, a new six-speed manual gearbox keeps the driving experience engaging and authentic.

Powerful Naturally Aspirated V6 Engine

Under the rear deck sits a completely reworked naturally aspirated V6 engine developed by Judd Engineering. The displacement grows from the original 3.0 liters to 3.5 liters, producing an impressive 420 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. Although the famous VTEC system has been removed for durability reasons, the new engine delivers significantly more performance while maintaining the high-revving personality that enthusiasts love. Power is transferred through an all-new six-speed manual gearbox that preserves driver engagement.

Modern Engineering Without Losing Driving Purity

The JAS Tensei introduces several modern technologies while avoiding unnecessary electronic interference. Drivers benefit from adaptive dampers, a front axle lift system, Apple CarPlay, and an automatic parking brake. However, the driving experience remains refreshingly analog thanks to rear-wheel drive and a traditional manual transmission. This careful balance allows the Tensei to feel modern without compromising the mechanical connection between driver and machine.

Chassis and Suspension Receive Comprehensive Upgrades

JAS strengthened the aging aluminum chassis using strategically placed carbon-fiber reinforcement. The suspension has been redesigned with new wishbones, multi-link components, and stronger uprights capable of handling the increased power. Progressive-rate springs work together with electronically adjustable KW dampers to deliver both comfort and precision. Brembo braking systems are available with either steel or carbon-ceramic discs, allowing buyers to tailor the car to their driving preferences.

Interior Combines Classic Style with Modern Features

Inside the cabin, the designers preserved much of the original dashboard layout because it remains one of the NSX’s defining characteristics. Premium upholstery, aluminum accents, and improved materials elevate the interior quality without changing its familiar appearance. The instrument cluster features a configurable display that can switch between a modern digital interface and a faithful recreation of the original six-dial analog layout, giving drivers the best of both worlds.

Limited Production Adds Exceptional Exclusivity

JAS initially debated producing anywhere between 10 and 100 examples before consulting collectors worldwide. Following positive feedback, the company settled on building just 35 units to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the original NSX. Buyers must provide their own donor NSX before paying approximately £770,000, excluding taxes. This limited production ensures the Tensei remains one of the most exclusive Japanese-inspired restomods ever created.

Every modification was carefully developed to improve performance, safety, and usability while preserving the essence of Honda’s legendary supercar.
